Wax typically is gentle on your hands and less likely to give you blister than some aggressive methods. If used on surf boards this extra hard formula this surfboard wax is for water temps 23 C ( 75 F ) and above. You can also use this wax to give your new surfboard a great base coat to apply cooler formula wax. Other options for increasing paddle grip include use of locators to ovalise the shaft, lightly scuffing the surface of your paddle shaft with steel wool or sand paper as well as ergonomic or bent shaft paddles which commonly have a pear shape in the grip sections. These methods may permanently alter your paddle or cost more. Some gloves may also increase grip for some people whilst pogies may increase grip by keeping your hands warm.
