The Kajak Sport Avataq 2.0 paddle float is a versatile progression from the traditional paddle float, designed to support both safety and skill development on the water. Its dual-chamber construction adds an extra level of ocean safety: if one chamber or valve were to fail during an expedition, the second chamber still provides buoyancy and support. It functions as a reliable self-rescue aid with both Euro (flat blade) and Greenland paddles, thanks to the adjustable webbing buckle straps that secure the paddle firmly in place. These buckles terminate in plastic D Rings for better ergonomics. These rings enable adjustment even when your hands might be a bit clumsy due to cold or heavy gloves etc. Beyond assisted re-entry, Avataq 2.0 also serves as a valuable training tool. It can be used to practice and refine techniques such as the balance brace, butterfly roll, and rolling fundamentals. For balance brace training, the float can be attached to the end of the paddle or held in one hand for additional buoyancy and support. During rolling practice, the float can be held with both hands—thumbs under the webbing strap and fingers around the ends—allowing paddlers to work on standard rolls, side pry rolls, and forward sweep rolls with increased confidence and control. With practice, even advanced techniques such as the back-deck roll can be developed. The Avataq 2.0 is designed to help paddlers build confidence and technique progressively.
